J Young Motors Ltd is a locally owned heavy commercial workshop situated in Bay View Napier.
We are the Hawkes Bay parts and service agents for the following brands:
- Freightliner
- Mercedes Benz
- Western Star
- Man
- Iveco
- Detroit Diesel.
We are currently seeking a self-motivated, experienced, trade qualified diesel mechanic with good leadership skills who is familiar with diagnostic strategies on modern diesel engines and electronics for a full time position.
This position may suit an auto electrician with a good mechanical ability.
To be considered for this position we require the following:
- Current class 1 licence
- HT licences preferred but not required
- Self-motivated who can work well under pressure
- Work flexible hours including Saturday
- Attend to afterhours callouts on a roster system
- Be able to work alone and as part of a team
- Computer literate with good diagnostic skills
- Friendly attitude with a sense of humour
- Trade qualified
- Good knowledge of COF regulations
- Have good time management and communication

Tasks will include the following:
- Carry out scheduled servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs to a high standard
- Ensure customer’s vehicles are maintained to a reliable and compliant standard at all times
- Complete all records and paperwork accurately to a high standard
- Carry out pre COF checks accurately *Auto electrical repairs as required
