Senior Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Employing over 1200 staff in 11 locations across New Zealand, C3 Limited is a market leader in New Zealand's port related product and cargo handling, adding value to our clients' businesses by providing solutions to their transport and logistics needs.

Business growth is placing increased demands on the diverse range of heavy machinery that C3 use to handle products at the port. C3 has seven workshops around the country that maintain and repair heavy machinery used in the port environment.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and qualified Diesel Mechanic in heavy plant and equipment, with strong attention to detail. An important part of your role will include supervising a small team that includes an apprentice nearing the end of their apprenticeship. You will bring a high level of technical skill and enjoy varied repair and mechanical work on a variety of industry leading equipment such as Volvo Log Loaders, Sennebogen Hi Stackers, Cat Excavators, Wagner Chip Dozer, Various models of Forklifts, ITV Truck's and trailers. Our Marsden Point branch also operates Debarker machinery.

Essential requirements for the position are:

? Mechanic trade certificate (PolyTech or MITO)

? Proven experience repairing and maintaining heavy machinery

? Being a self-starter with initiative

? Keen eye for detail with superior workmanship

? Commitment to Health & Safety of you and your team

? Flexibility and reliability

? Ability with welding would be useful but is not essential

? Computer literacy

? Good communication skills

? Strong time management skills and ability to work unsupervised is essential.

? Available to participate in an on-call roster.

? Supervisory experience preferred for our small team.
