Automotive Electrician – Opportunities in Hawkes Bay

Tradestaff have Automotive Electrician jobs available across the Hawkes Bay region.
We are looking for Automotive Electrician’s with background knowledge and experience (but are not limited to) with the following:
- Inspecting vehicles and using diagnostic tools to identify faults and issues with electrical systems
- Maintenance of automotive electrical systems
- Make repairs to necessary electrical systems and identifying faulty wiring, defective components or circuitry problems.
- Install and configure electrical accessories such as audio systems, alarms, GPS devices, auxiliary lighting and power windows
- Testing and replacing batteries for voltage and charge levels to maintain reliable starting and charging systems
- Diagnosing and repairing electronic systems including engine control modules, airbag systems, anti-lock brake systems and advanced safety features such as collision avoidance systems
- Conducting safety inspections on electrical components to ensure they meet safety standards
If you have additional diesel or petrol mechanical experience this is a bonus. Experience with repairs, or general servicing of vehicles such as engine overhauls, filter replacements is preferred but not essential.
Ideally, you will be or have:
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience
- Trade qualifications preferred however scope and length of electrical experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
- Your own tools
- Own reliable transport
- At least 2 work references
- 100% commitment to Health & Safety
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Class 1 preferred but not essential
In return we offer competitive rates of pay, varied and challenging work, regular hours with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, as well as long-term opportunities.
Minimum pay range $30-$40 depending on experience
