Panel Beater – Tauranga Skilled trade. Quality work. Local opportunity. We’re looking for an experienced Panel Beater to join our dynamic team in Tauranga. If you're passionate about vehicles and enjoy hands-on, high-quality work, this is your chance to join a workshop where your skills will be recognised, and your career can grow. What you’ll be doing You'll be working on a variety of vehicles, completing full repairs to return them to top condition. Tasks include:
- Removing damaged panels, upholstery, and accessories to access repair areas
- Repairing dents by hammering and reshaping panels
- Straightening damaged vehicle frames and components using hydraulic and mechanical equipment
- Replacing severely damaged sections with new or second-hand parts
- Filling dents and imperfections with plastic filler, sanding and smoothing surfaces for painting
- Cutting and welding replacement sections as needed
- Refitting repaired or new panels, trims, door locks and other body fittings
- Assisting in custom restoration projects including vintage or specialty vehicles
- May assist in spray painting and finishing work
Preferred Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in panel beating or a related automotive role, and/or relevant trade qualification
- Reliable transport and punctuality
- Able to provide at least two work references
- Strong commitment to health and safety practices
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
