Automotive Panelbeater – Hamilton – Immediate Start Pay Rate: $28–$32 per hour (depending on experience) We’re looking for a qualified, experienced Automotive Panelbeater to join our busy, well-equipped workshop in Hamilton. If you’re skilled, reliable, and ready to hit the ground running — we want to hear from you. Do you enjoy a joke? Are you self motivated we are looking for someone with good values and integrity What You’ll Be Doing You’ll be carrying out all core panelbeating duties, including:
- Work on a variety of vehicles including well loved classic cars
- Workshop with modern equipment including 3D measuring technology.
Removal & Prep
- Removing damaged parts and accessories
- Cutting out damaged sections
- Storing all parts safely and correctly
Straightening & Alignment
- Straightening frames and body structures to manufacturer specs
- Realigning and reshaping panels
- Hammering out dents
Welding
- Using correct welding techniques
- Reattaching parts and panels to a high standard
Rust, Filling & Sanding
- Repairing rust to industry standards
- Applying appropriate fillers
- Grinding, sanding and reshaping panels
- Prepping surfaces for paint
Replacement & Reassembly
- Fitting repaired or new parts
- Reinstalling accessories and completing jobs to spec
General Workshop Duties
- Keeping workspace and tools clean, tidy and organised
What You’ll Bring
- Trade qualification in Automotive Panel Beating
- 2+ years’ experience in a panelbeating role
- Solid understanding of the automotive industry, metals, vehicle parts, and manufacturer/insurance repair procedures
- Your own hand tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and listening skills
- Highly organised and able to multitask
