Residential Estimator & Detailer

We are on the lookout for a Residential Estimator & Detailer to join our team in Tauranga! In this role, you will contribute to the technical heart of the organisation by delivering accurate quotes and schedule of quantities. This is a full time, permanent opportunity, with the ability to grow.

Key responsibilities and duties are:

• Adhere to daily schedules as set out by the team
• Communicate with sales and site measuring staff
• Scope projects from shop drawings and specification
• Communicate effectively with project managers
• Compile quotes for tenders and closed sales
• Compile accurate schedule of quantities by researching information, investigating details, and liaise with suppliers and factory staff
• Follow the life cycle of a project from sale to installation
• Always maintain a professional approach within the company and with external stake holders
• Report any issue and help implement systems for improving performance and productivity

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in estimating - detailing is a bonus! and/or a closely related construction role
• Solid computer skills, with experience using estimating
• High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality
• Sound understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and terminology
• Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to build effective working relationships with sales teams, project managers, suppliers, and factory staff
• A proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement
