About the role

Generation Windows and Doors North Ltd. is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in Christchurch, Central Canterbury. As our Estimator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates and proposals. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to the strategic growth of our company.

What you'll be doing

Preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and equipment.

Analysing construction plans, specifications, and other project documentation to identify scope and resource requirements.

Collaborating with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing information.

Presenting comprehensive cost proposals and estimates to clients.

Identifying potential cost savings and suggesting alternative solutions to optimise project budgets.

Providing support and guidance to the fabrication team throughout the project.

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately identify and quantify project requirements.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.

Knowledge of construction industry regulations, standards, and best practices.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
