Are you a skilled carpenter looking to apply your expertise in a dynamic, outdoor, earthmoving environment?
We’re looking for an experienced, hands‑on Carpenter to join our team and play a key role in supporting civil construction and earthworks projects across South Canterbury.
About the Role In this role, you will support our earthmoving operations by delivering high‑quality carpentry work for civil infrastructure projects. You’ll work alongside machine operators, site supervisors, and project managers to construct and maintain a range of temporary and permanent structures essential to earthworks and construction.
Guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct and install formwork, framing, retaining structures, and concrete boxing
- Read and interpret construction drawings and site plans
- Collaborate with site teams to support efficient and safe project delivery
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and site safety
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment confidently
- Assist with general construction or labouring tasks as required
About You You’ll thrive in this role if you are reliable, safety‑minded, and enjoy working outdoors on a variety of civil and earthmoving projects.
We’re looking for someone with:
- At least 3+ years carpentry experience (earthmoving/civil experience an advantage)
- A relevant trade qualification or proven industry experience
- Strong practical skills and the ability to work independently
- Good understanding of construction and site safety requirements
- A positive, can‑do attitude and willingness to support the wider site team
- A full New Zealand driver licence (WTR or Class 2+ helpful but not essential)
