This is a permanent full-time role working for a New Zealand owned and operated company in the scrap metal industry, you will be working in various sites, with weekly guaranteed hours at least 30 and a gross hourly pay rate between $26.69 and $29.66. In this role you will be part of a successful team, learning all sorts of skills in different construction sites and as part of this team you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality workmanship.
Job Duties:
- Load and unload vehicles, often using forklifts or other machinery
- Sort, stack, and store materials safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free yard and work environment
- Receive, check, and dispatch goods accurately
- Assist customers and drivers on-site in a friendly and professional manner
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety standards and company policies
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on tools, or equipment as required
- Perform general labouring duties such as lifting, carrying, digging, sweeping, and cleaning
- Operate basic tools and machinery under supervision
Experience:
At least one year experience in the same industry.
Good physical fitness – able to lift heavy items in outdoors in varying weather.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Must be able to pass a drug test.
Must have a valid driver license, international license is also accepted.
