About the Role Max People are seeking experienced Civil Machine Operators to join large-scale civil projects across Christchurch, Canterbury, and the wider South Island. This role suits operators who know their gear, take pride in how they operate and maintain it, and understand that being part of a civil crew means pitching in on the ground when required. This is a skilled role requiring proven experience — not an entry-level position. If you're safety-focused, production-driven, and looking for consistent work with reputable civil contractors, this is an opportunity worth considering.
Wages $32.00 - $35.00 per hour (Depending on experience) Location Christchurch & Canterbury (Some South Island project work may be required)

What You Will Be Doing
- Operating excavators, scrapers, dozers, and graders
- Supporting site teams when off the machine
- Working to production targets safely and efficiently
- Carrying out daily checks and maintaining machinery
- Assisting with leadership on site when required
What We Require
- Minimum 4 years' proven experience operating civil machinery
- Experience on excavators, scrapers, dozers, and/or graders
- WTR endorsements essential
- Class 1-4 NZ driver licence preferred
- Strong understanding of civil site health & safety
- Site Safe (we can assist if needed)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
