Civil Machinery Operator

Grounds and Services Limited (GSL) is growing — and we’re looking for experienced Civil Machinery Operators to join our expanding civil construction team in Christchurch.

This is a full-time, permanent role working across a diverse range of civil projects including subdivisions, stormwater infrastructure, waterway enhancements and bulk earthworks.

You’ll report to the Site Manager and play a key role in delivering high-quality work safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operating modern earthmoving machinery including excavators, loaders, dump trucks, bulldozers and skid steers
• Working on subdivisions, stormwater basins and environmental enhancement projects
• Bulk earthworks, final trim, drain laying and truck loading
• Using GPS systems and site plans to meet contract specifications
• Completing daily pre-starts and basic machine maintenance
• Supporting the team with general site duties when required

What You’ll Bring

• NZ Class 2 licence with WTR (essential)
• Class 4 licence (advantageous)
• Proven experience operating diggers, loaders and dumpers in a civil environment
• Strong understanding of on-site health & safety
• A positive, team-focused attitude and strong work ethic
