About the Opportunity We are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced surfacing professionals to join our Christchurch-based team delivering Chipsealing and asphalt programmes across Canterbury. These roles suit capable forepersons and skilled operators who take pride in delivering high quality surfacing outcomes that directly support safe, reliable, and resilient transport networks.
We want to hear from people with experience in Chipsealing, Asphalt and Civil Road Maintenance for roles including:
- Forepersons
- Specialist Plant Operators – Bitumen Sprayer Operators, Paver Operators, Screed hands
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Chipsealing and asphalt works to meet project requirements, safety standards and contractual obligations.
- Operate and maintain road maintenance plant and vehicles (e.g. chip spreaders, asphalt pavers, rollers, tip trucks) safely and in accordance with manufacturer and company procedures.
- Work collaboratively within a high-performing surfacing crew to deliver durable and consistent results
Skills & Experience – What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in Chipsealing, asphalt or civil construction works, relevant supervisory/management experience for delivery roles.
- Experience operating road maintenance plant and machinery; appropriate licences and endorsements (e.g. Class 4, WTR) are desirable for both foreperson and operator roles.
- Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards, and a proactive approach to hazard identification and risk control.
- Reliability, a practical hands-on attitude and flexibility to work rostered hours or be available for on-call duties where required.
