About the Role We're looking for experienced Heavy Machine Operators to join civil construction teams in Christchurch and Queenstown. You'll operate a variety of plant machinery while supporting drainage and earthworks crews on active sites. This is hands-on work, and you'll also assist with general labouring tasks when required.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Operating excavators, rollers, compactors & dumpers
  • Excavating trenches and grading works to specification
  • Lifting and placing trench shields, pipes, and materials
  • Working safely around live services and utilities
  • Assisting with drainage operations and de-watering
  • Maintaining machinery, tools, and site safety systems
  • Participating in pre-start meetings and toolbox talks
  • Supporting general civil site operations and housekeeping

What We Require

  • Proven experience operating excavators & civil machinery
  • Comfortable in deep drainage and trenching environments
  • Strong understanding of civil construction safety practices
  • Reliable, hardworking, and a team player
  • Willingness to assist with general labouring when required
  • Valid Site Safe or Construct Safe - we can assist
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
