Description

Water Reticulation Specialist We’re looking for an experienced Water Reticulation Specialist to join a well-established civil company working across Tauranga. This role suits someone confident working on live networks, leading small crews, and delivering high-quality water infrastructure projects.

Details Location: Tauranga region Start date: Immediate start available Pay rate: $33–50 per hour (paid weekly)

About the role You’ll be hands-on across a range of water reticulation works, contributing to the installation, maintenance, and renewal of local networks while ensuring all work meets council and project requirements.

Key duties

  • Installation of water, wastewater, and stormwater reticulation systems
  • Laying and jointing pipes (PVC, PE, concrete, ductile iron)
  • Maintenance, repairs, and renewals of existing networks
  • Fault finding, leak detection, and repairs on live services
  • Installing valves, hydrants, manholes, and fittings
  • Trenching, backfilling, and reinstatement work
  • Reading and working from civil plans and drawings
  • Working safely around live services and traffic management
  • Coordinating with supervisors, operators, and site crews
  • Ensuring work meets council and project specifications

What we’re looking for

  • NZ Certificate Level 4 in Water Reticulation
  • Experience with pressure testing, chlorination, and pigging
  • Ability to organise and undergo shutdowns
  • Knowledge of TCC / WBOP networks and TCC IDC requirements
  • Mechanical knowledge (flanges, spools, Gibault joints)
  • Knowledge of air valves, PRVs, and scour valves
  • Ability to lead a crew of up to three
  • Confined Space and RTW
  • Butt welding / electrofusion welding (desirable)
  • Pump station knowledge (desirable)
  • Ability to operate and trench with a digger (desirable)
  • Class 2 licence (desirable)
