Help lead the team delivering incredible events across Christchurch and the South Island. At Happyhire, we create amazing events — from weddings and festivals to corporate events and community celebrations. Behind every successful event is a great team making it happen.
We’re looking for a Team Leader to support our Christchurch operations by leading event crews, coordinating logistics, and ensuring every job is delivered safely and to a high standard. If you’ve led crews in construction, scaffolding, logistics, or events and enjoy working alongside your team to get the job done, this could be the role for you. Reporting to the Christchurch Branch Manager, this is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll guide the team on-site and help keep operations running smoothly.

What you’ll be doing *Leading event crews during installations and pack-downs *Coordinating staff, vehicles, and equipment for event delivery *Supporting warehouse operations and equipment preparation *Working with the Branch Manager and Sales team to ensure bookings run smoothly *Ensuring hire equipment is clean, functional, and well presented *Maintaining strong Health & Safety practices across all work sites *Communicating job plans clearly to drivers and operational staff *This role involves time in the warehouse, on-site at events, and supporting the team during busy periods.

What you’ll bring *Experience leading or supervising teams in an operational environment *A practical, hands-on leadership style *Strong organisation and problem-solving skills *Ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment *A strong commitment to Health & Safety *Class 2 driver licence and ability to drive a manual vehicle is a bonus *Be able to travel when required
