Our Whanganui team are looking for a Patrol Person to join them!!

Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

Downer are proudly supporting a range of exciting projects across Whanganui. The Downer South division is highly respected and has a great track record for delivering a high standard of work across the country. We are looking for an experienced or up-and-coming Patrol Person.

The Downer Whanganui team are seeking a motivated Patrol Person to support the region on smaller maintenance initiatives and urgent repair work across the area. This is a great opportunity to join a reputable company that looks after its people. You will be responsible for patrolling designated roads and conducting routine and emergency maintenance to ensure the safety of the public. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Pothole repairs of both sealed and unsealed roads
  • Sign/post maintenance and repairs
  • Clearing obstructions from carriageway, footpaths and drainage systems

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

You will be a physically fit and motivated person and will bring with you.

  • Class 2 licence required
  • Be able to identify and rate faults
  • Show good initiative and be confident in decision-making and problem-solving
  • Must be available to respond to after-hours call-outs when rostered
