We’re looking for aDirector – Project Management & Advisoryto lead high-impact projects, grow client relationships, and establish the presence of a growing consulting firm in New Zealand. You’ll have real autonomy while working closely with the New Zealand Director and Australian team, giving you support and collaboration without losing the opportunity to make it your own. About the Role
You’ll deliver complex advisory engagements across infrastructure strategy, business cases, and project or programme management. You’ll take ownership of business development, grow the client pipeline, and mentor any new consultants as the practice expands.
The pathway from this role is clear:as you deliver, win work, and grow the team around you, you become the practice’s New Zealand sector leader. If you have ever wanted to build something, not just work in something, this is that opportunity. What You’ll Do

- Manage stakeholders, consultants, and project teams to deliver integrated, high-impact outcomes.
- Drive business development – build relationships, convert opportunities, and grow the practice’s footprint.
- Shape the culture and ways of working in New Zealand as the team grows. What You Bring
- 10+ years of experience in advisory, consulting, government, or private sector roles – ideally in infrastructure, transport, water, or energy.
- A proven track record of leading complex advisory projects and winning work at a senior level.
- Strong professional networks across government and industry in New Zealand.
- Strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and a collaborative, people-first approach.
- An entrepreneurial mindset suited to building something from the ground up. What’s on Offer
- Competitive salary plus personal incentive scheme.
- 5 weeks annual leave per year.
- Professional development budget and support to attend industry conferences.
- Clear pathway to profit share and, for the right person, an ownership stake.
- The chance to lead and grow a high-impact advisory presence in New Zealand.
If you’re ready to build something, leave a legacy, and make an impact that goes beyond the project, this is the role for you.
