Maintenance Manager

The role Datum Projects is one of New Zealand's leading interior fit-out specialists, trusted by many of Australasia's most recognised blue chip retailers and commercial brands. Our maintenance division keeps client portfolios in great shape across New Zealand — and we're looking for an exceptional person to lead it.

As Maintenance Manager, you'll be the first voice our clients hear when something goes wrong — and the lasting impression Datum leaves when the job is done. This is a desk-based coordination and relationship role with real commercial responsibility: quoting, supplier management, business development, and leading a van-based Maintenance Technician who reports directly to you.

What you'll be doing Managing client relationships across a nationwide blue chip retail and commercial portfolio Responding to urgent maintenance requests with speed and professionalism Preparing accurate, competitive quotes for maintenance and minor works Triaging jobs and deploying your Maintenance Technician and supplier network effectively Identifying and growing business development opportunities within existing client accounts Coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver every job on time Managing job budgets, reporting on pipeline and margin, and closing out work cleanly

What we're looking for Outstanding communication skills — you pick up the phone, you follow up, and clients love working with you Strong organisational ability — you can manage a busy inbox of concurrent urgent jobs without anything slipping The ability to produce accurate quotes for maintenance and minor works Experience leading or directing others — you brief, deploy, and follow up with clarity A commercial mindset — you see the opportunity in every client interaction Experience in client-facing coordination, project management, facilities management, or account management Familiarity with construction, fitout, or facilities management is a bonus — but not essential
