Project Engineer - Civil

Project Engineer Waikato, Auckland + Regional Projects

Join a well-established civil contractor delivering complex infrastructure projects across the upper North Island. With strong capability in water and wastewater treatment facilities, heavy concrete structures, and large-scale civil works, the business offers a stable pipeline and exposure to technically challenging projects across multiple disciplines.

This is a hands-on role sitting between the Project Manager and Site Supervisors, with exposure across the full project lifecycle - from planning and programming through to commercial delivery and site coordination.

It’s an excellent opportunity for:

• An intermediate Project Engineer, or
• A Site Engineer with solid site experience who’s ready to step up

You’ll gain real ownership while developing your capability across project delivery, contracts, and stakeholder management.

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years’ experience in civil construction
• Strong site-based experience on heavy civil projects (e.g. concrete structures, infrastructure works, treatment plants)
• Relevant qualification (NZCE, BE, or equivalent)
• Exposure to (or interest in developing skills in):
• Contracts, variations, and claims
• Programming and forecasting
• Subcontractor management
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• A proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership and drive outcomes
