Intermediate/ Senior Project Manager - Civil

With significant growth and strong pipeline of work, we are on the hunt for an experienced civil construction Project Manager. We’re a hardworking, purpose-driven, self-performing civil engineering and construction dedicated to delivering a diverse range of infrastructure projects across Auckland. This is a senior, hands-on role suited to someone who is self driven and not a training position.

About the role Join Traffica as a Project Manager and play a key role in delivering our projects. With a focus on planning, scheduling, and compliance, you’ll drive project success while mentoring others and contributing to a culture of excellence.

You’ll be responsible for end-to-end Project Management across a steady pipeline of complex civil works, including:

• Roading and transport infrastructure
• Three Waters (stormwater, wastewater, water supply)
• Earthworks and bulk civils
• Utility Works

You’ll work closely with operational and commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest Quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop construction plans and manage project execution.
• Conduct site investigations, analyse data, and oversee technical review and inspections.
• Coordinate with clients, partners and subcontractors.
• Manage scheduling, planning, survey, procurement and ensure QHSE planning and compliance.
• Track progress, report on project status and manage budgets and regulatory compliance.
• Handle cost control, stakeholder management and contribute to company culture.
• Lead team members as the Project Manager and promote team success.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years' of NZ, UK or Australian experience in a Senior Project Engineer/Project Manager role
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or extensive work experience
• Experienced in managing large, complex civil projects
• Strong commercial acumen in budgeting, cost control, and forecasting
• Expertise in project delivery, including surveying and permits
• Able to read drawings, plans, and Inspection Test Plans
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Enjoy teamwork
