Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of contracting projects across the region's energy distribution network. This is a key role responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to both client and Northpower quality standards. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced contracting environment, managing multiple stakeholders, and delivering practical, cost-effective solutions, this role offers the opportunity to make a real impact.

About the role:

As Project Manager, you will take full ownership of projects from planning through to close-out. You will work closely with clients, consultants, designers, field crews, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution and strong commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

-Planning, scheduling, and managing contracting projects to meet customer and contractual requirements

-Ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget

-Coordinating resources and staff scheduling to maximise productivity and minimise downtime

-Organising and confirming materials, plant, and services

-Managing customer liaison and maintaining clear, documented communication

-Preparing and issuing comprehensive Work Packs to support effective field delivery

-Monitoring project progress and ensuring smooth execution in the field

-Completing job files, close-out meetings, and final reporting

-Managing WIP, invoice forecasting (internal and external), and budget forecasting

-Providing weekly client reports and regular project status updates

Experience:

To succeed in this role, you will have:

-Strong understanding of project and job management fundamentals

-Proven experience managing projects within electrical distribution networks

-Sound financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and forecasting

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Strong relationship-building skills with clients, crews, and stakeholders

-Confident decision-making and problem-solving ability

-High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Project

-A practical, delivery-focused mindset suited to a contracting environment
