Project Engineer - Estimation

ConsultANZ is looking for a versatileProject Engineer - Estimationto join a well-established civil contractor in Vanuatu. This is an exciting opportunity for engineers to gain hands-on experience across a variety of civil and building projects, including building refurbishments, temples, wharves, resorts, and piling/foundation works.

Main Duties Your responsibilities are to:

• Conduct site visits and gather project information to prepare accurate estimates.
• Prepare subcontract and material inquiries and review subsequent quotations.
• Manage costs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with cost planning, bills of quantity preparation, and contract administration.
• Check labour and plant resources accumulated in the cost estimate against those derived from the tender program.
• Provide accurate commercial advice to Construction Managers, Project Managers, and the Senior Management team.
• Prepare the commercial tender for submission to the client.
• Prepare and present commercial handover documents to the contract delivery team.
• Liaise with construction teams to ensure output and resource data are collected, providing feedback for future tenders. Requirements The successful candidate will bring to the role:
• A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a construction-related field.
• 3+ years of experience in civil or building projects, with a versatile approach to multiple project types.
• Experience in estimation software such as Candy, Excel, or other similar tools.
• Familiarity with cost planning, measurement, and tender documentation.
• Strong understanding of engineering techniques, construction processes, and their suitability.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders concurrently or a singular large-value tender.
• Excellent communication skills, able to professionally convey information to all stakeholders.
• NZ or AU citizenship (visa required). Benefits:
