Grada Recruitment is currently looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a winning Tier 1 team, based in Christchurch. This is a key strategic role, taking commercial leadership on a portfolio of major infrastructure projects across the South Island.
The Role
You will be the commercial backbone for high-value civil projects, responsible for all financial aspects from tender to final account. You will be managing variations, processing claims, handling subcontractor procurement and payments, and providing accurate monthly cost reports. A key part of your role will be to mentor and guide intermediate and junior QS staff, ensuring the commercial success and profitability of major projects.

The Ideal Candidate
- 7+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the NZ Civil contracting sector
- A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Proven experience managing the commercial aspects of large-scale civil projects
- Strong understanding of NZS310 and construction contract administration
- Excellent leadership skills with a passion for mentoring junior team members
