Description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team.

This role is ideally suited to someone with a few years of residential construction or QS experience who is eager to grow their career within a modern and forward-thinking building company. We are particularly interested in candidates who are highly organised, ambitious, strong with technology and software, and motivated to help improve systems and processes as the industry continues to evolve.

At Nixon Homes, you will gain exposure across the full residential construction process while working closely with directors, project manager, clients, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers on a range of high-quality residential projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare take-offs, quote requests and cost estimates
  • Prepare purchase orders
  • Monitor project costs, back cost and report on financial performance
  • Prepare and process variations
  • Assist with forecasting and reporting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of company systems and processes
  • Assist with implementing smarter technology and software-driven efficiencies across the business
  • As required, liaise with clients, suppliers, consultants, and trades
  • Support project documentation and coordination, including: o plan revisions, engineering documentation, council requirements, contract documents

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years experience in residential construction or quantity surveying
  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong computer, software, and systems capability
  • Interest in technology, innovation, and process improvement
  • Good communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Sound understanding of NZ residential construction practices
  • Knowledge of NZ Building Code, NZS 3604, or related standards is advantageous but not essential
  • Positive attitude with ambition to grow and develop within the business
  • Knowledge of residential construction software an advantage, including Buildertrend, JACK App, Utecture, Rave
