Project Manager - Civil

The Role:
We have an opportunity for a Civil Project Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Civil Manager, the role is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing civil projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring quality, safety and client satisfaction, ensuring that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. This role is multi-faceted and requires achieving results through others and therefore includes the effective leadership and management of specific Civil team members.

Your Responsibilities: You will be primarily responsible for:

• Managing civil projects up to 5 million in value
• Leading and mentoring a skilled team
• Planning and scheduling projects to meet deadlines and budgets
• Ensuring health and safety compliance at all times with all workers involved.
• Overseeing contractual, financial and quality assurance requirements including maintaining comprehensive project documentation and accurate project reports and updates.
• Coordinate project program with clients and production team to ensure smooth delivery of the project.
• Preparation of future tenders, quotes and submissions to clients.
• Active participation in relevant meetings including management and toolbox meetings.

Yours Skills & Experience: The ideal candidate will have previous experience in project management level role, ideally within the construction industry and will also have the following skills:

• 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager in civil construction
• Strong knowledge of NZ3910 and NZ3916
• Expertise in cost control, financial reporting, and pricing variations
• Knowledge and understanding of Deep Foundation, piling and structures.
• In-depth knowledge of construction procedures and equipment
• Strong operational and organisational skills
• Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence team members positively
• High focus on and good understanding of health and safety requirements
• Exceptional problem-solving skills
• Ability to mentor, support and grow other team members whilst contributing to a high-performance team delivering projects.
• Valid NZ Drivers Licence
• Applicants for the position will need to be legally allowed to work in NZ.

Job details

• Location: Hastings Hawkes Bay
• Hours: minimum 47.5 hours/week (Mon-Fri), depending on project demands.
• Travel may be required on occasion based on project location.
• Company vehicle, phone and laptop
