Quantity Surveyor/Estimator

Our projects range from complex villa renovations and architectural alterations through to bespoke new homes and multi-unit residential developments. We are a growing business with a strong pipeline of work and are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Pukekohe.

We are also open to considering experienced Estimators who are looking to further develop their skills and transition into a Quantity Surveying role.

Key responsibilities: *Pricing residential construction projects ranging from renovations and extensions through to high-end new builds and townhouse developments. *Preparing detailed estimates, budgets and tender documentation. *Completing material take-offs from plans and specifications. *Obtaining and negotiating subcontractor and supplier pricing. *Assisting with procurement and project budgeting. *Working alongside Project Managers to prepare and price project variations. *Preparing building and renovation contracts. *Reviewing drawings, specifications and consultant documentation. *Occasional site visits to review project scope and variation requirements. *Maintaining accurate pricing databases and supplier relationships.

About You! You will be someone who enjoys accuracy, problem-solving and working collaboratively within a high-performing team.

Skills & Experience *5+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying, Estimating or a similar role within residential construction. *Strong understanding of NZ residential construction methods and materials. *Ability to confidently read and interpret plans and specifications. *Excellent Microsoft Excel and computer skills. *Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. *Comfortable communicating with clients, suppliers and subcontractors. *Self-motivated and capable of producing accurate pricing schedules and documentation. *Relevant tertiary qualification preferred but not essential.
