Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

The Downer Transport and Infrastructure division is highly respected and has a great track record for delivering a high standard of work across the country. We are looking for an experienced or up-and-coming STMS to join our civil team based in Penrose, Auckland.

As an STMS, you will ensure the accurate following of temporary traffic management plans and oversee set up and pack down of road closures and diversions.

  • You will be confident leading toolbox and closure briefings with crew, whilst providing clear job details and expectations to TMO's
  • Willing and able to train and upskill our Traffic Controllers and junior STMS'
  • Ensure the safety of the Downer crew, subbies, and the general public

Skills

If you enjoy spending your days on your feet and outdoors, this would be your perfect next move! You will have a can-do attitude, strong leadership skills with the ability to engage and motivate your team. We'd also value:

  • STMS Cat A/B/C Practicing or 1 Warrant (preferable)
  • Class 1 Full New Zealand Driver's licence (Class 2 beneficial)
  • Reliability, problem solving abilities and people skills
  • A commitment and confidence to maintain safe work practices
