HEB is proud to be the preferred contractor for the North Canterbury Integrated Delivery Contract (IDC) – a long-term programme maintaining some of New Zealand’s most critical motorway and state highway corridors. As part of this mobilisation, we’re looking for an experienced STMS (Motorway) – Cat C to join our Traffic Management team.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll lead a TTM crew, set the standard for safe and professional motorway operations, and play a key role in keeping road users and your crew safe every day.
The role
As an STMS (Motorway), you will:
- Lead and supervise a TTM crew on motorway and high-speed environments
- Plan, implement and monitor TMPs in line with NZGTTM and contract requirements
- Set up, modify and remove traffic management safely and efficiently
- Provide clear direction, coaching and support to your crew on site
- Carry out site risk assessments and actively manage changing site conditions
- Be a visible safety leader who looks out for their people and the travelling public
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, planners and other work groups across the IDC
What we’re looking for
You’ll bring:
- Current STMS (Motorway) – Category C qualification
- Strong experience working in motorway / high-speed traffic environments
- Proven ability to lead and develop a small crew
- A calm, confident approach to decision-making in live traffic situations
- Clear communication skills and a professional, respectful leadership style
- A strong safety mindset and pride in doing the job right
- Full Class 2 NZ driver licence
