Description
This is a specialist hands-on role where you manage traffic management (TM) sites including undertaking set up and removal along with being responsible for the safety of your fellow workers, the public, and the road users. No experience is required as all training will be provided.
About Kūmānu Kūmānu means "to nurture, care for, and cherish." We are a team of designers and doers, working across Landscapes, Water, and Environmental, dedicated to enhancing New Zealand’s environment through our ‘Big Nature Thinking’. From mountains to the coastline, we provide integrated services including biosecurity, conservation, three waters management, facilities and landscapes.
What you’ll be doing:
- Take responsibility for a (TM) site
- Set up a site with the required (TM) equipment, eg. cones and signs
- Follow (TM) Plans and decide on required equipment for site
- Using traffic signals and directing traffic flow
What you can expect:
- No two days the same as you work across Kūmānu three service lines, Water, Environment and Landscapes
- Day-to-day work in the beautiful Nelson Tasman region with occasional overnight stays

Suitable candidates will have :
- Full Class 1 Driver’s licence* ability to drive a manual vehicle (preferred)
- High awareness and application of Health and Safety
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
- Positive attitude and heaps of initiative
- Good communication skills
- No experience is required as training will be provided
Please note that applicants must have a current full drivers’ licence, NZ residency/citizenship or a valid NZ work visa and will be required to undergo pre-employment medical and drug screening, as well as a Ministry of Justice police check and an ACC check.
