Description

Role Purpose The Reception / Customer Service Representative is the first point of contact for customers, drivers, and visitors to the branch. This role provides professional, friendly, and efficient customer service while supporting daily operational and administrative activities of the depot. Key Responsibilities Customer Service

  • Greet customers and visitors at reception in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Handle inbound phone calls, emails, and walk-in enquiries
  • Assist customers with booking courier jobs, tracking consignments, POD requests, and general enquiries
  • Resolve customer issues efficiently and escalating where required
  • Provide accurate information about services, delivery timeframes, and pricing

Reception 

  • Operate branch reception and maintain a tidy, professional front-of-house area
  • Process consignments, driver paperwork, and customer documentation
  • Data entry and system updates using New Zealand Couriers’ operating systems
  • Manage daily general tasks
  • Support the operations and customer service teams as required

Operational Support

  • Liaise with drivers regarding collections, deliveries, and issues
  • Assist with freight queries
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety, and service standards

Skills & Experience Essential

  • Previous customer service or reception experience 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Confident telephone manner and professional presentation
  • Good computer skills and accuracy with data
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure

Desirable

  • Experience in courier, freight, or logistics operations
  • Familiarity with dispatch or tracking systems
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach

Hours of Work

  • Monday to Friday, 8am – 5:00pm and fortnightly Saturdays 8am - 11am
  • Additional hours may be required during peak periods
