Customer Vehicle Representative Hertz | Thrifty | Dollar — Palmerston North

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Customer Vehicle Representative (CVR) to join our busy Palmerston North team.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced position where you will play a key role in delivering an outstanding rental experience. Your day will include a mix of customer service, vehicle preparation, and operational support, no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional customer service at the rental counter
• Process vehicle rentals and returns accurately
• Conduct vehicle inspections and complete damage reporting (VIR)
• Clean and prepare vehicles to Hertz, Thrifty and Dollar standards
• Support fleet movements and daily branch operations
• Resolve customer enquiries professionally and efficiently
• Work collaboratively to meet shared team goals

Working Hours:

Our branch operates

Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 8:00pm

Saturday: 7:00am – 3:30pm

Sunday: 7:30am – 4:00pm

Important: Shifts may start up to one hour prior to opening when required, so flexibility with early starts is essential. Weekend availability is also required. With our current staffing patterns, weekend work and a mix of morning and evening shifts are rotated fairly across the team. What We’re Looking For:

• Strong customer service skills and a positive, can-do attitude
• Ability to work hard while contributing to a fun, supportive team environment
• Good common sense and sound judgement in day-to-day decisions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• High attention to detail and good time management
• Confident using computer systems
• Full, clean driver’s licence (essential) — restricted licences may be considered
• Comfortable driving automatic vehicles (our rental fleet does not include manual vehicles)
• Previous rental car, automotive, or customer service experience is advantageous but not essential
