Funeral Assistant – Full Time / Rostered Position We are a well-established, family-owned funeral business, operating 4 sites across the Nelson Tasman Region. We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Funeral Assistant to join our team. This role is integral to the day-to-day operation of our funeral home and crematorium and will suit someone who is practical, respectful, and comfortable working in a sensitive environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assisting funeral directors with transferring people into our care, funerals and memorial services
- Assisting with the operation of our crematorium
- Setting up and operating sound systems and audio-visual equipment for services
- General operational and support duties as required including cleaning and maintenance of vehicles and our funeral homes. About You
- Calm, respectful, and able to work compassionately with families
- Comfortable using technology, particularly sound systems and AV equipment
- Physically fit – heavy lifting is required
- Reliable and flexible, with the ability to work a rostered schedule including weekends and after-hours
- Holds a full, clean New Zealand driver licence
- Able to work well as part of a small, close-knit team Experience in the funeral industry is an advantage, but not essential – full training will be provided for the right person. What We Offer
