Bear Park Herne Bay, based on Shelly Beach Road, is in a character filled, homely bungalow, with a modern, purpose-built extension. The extension was designed to allow natural light to spill into the interior, creating learning spaces that are connected, inviting and well-equipped.
Due to our existing Centre Director going on parental leave, we are looking for an experienced ECE leader to join us from February 2026 through to January 2027.
This role would be an amazing experience for someone who has been looking for an opportunity to step up to a Centre Director role. You will be supported to succeed by an experienced and close-knit leadership team to deliver a well-rounded and engaging curriculum, whilst ensuring the success of the centre from a business perspective, including overseeing and managing compliance. You will have a passion for the Reggio Emilia philosophy and supporting engaging provocations with our natural resources. Children and their best interests will be at the forefront of all you do and you will support you team to advocate for children at all times.
As a Centre Director, communication will be one of your core strengths. Relationships drive all we do and ensure not only our children, but our teachers and whanau, are engaged and feel part of our centre community. You will be an experienced leader with strong mentoring skills and a passion for cultivating a positive learning culture.
About You:
- A qualified and registered ECE teacher, you have excellent communication skills and an in-depth knowledge of compliance and operations.
- Experienced in the Reggio Emilia approach and at the very least knowledge of, and a passion for, this philosophy.
- Collaborative and engaged senior leader who works alongside teachers and participates in group planning and mentoring.
