About the Role:
BestStart Waiuku has proudly supported tamariki and their whānau since 2008, offering an inclusive, engaging environment where children are empowered to learn, grow, and thrive. Our local curriculum celebrates each child's unique journey, symbolised by the feather, representing growth and development as they build their own kete of knowledge and belonging.
Our preschool room fosters strong connections to people, place, and learning, with regular visits to Sandspit School and Waiuku Library supporting confident transitions to school. With a rich outdoor environment and values grounded in manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga, ako, whanaungatanga, and kotahitanga, we create meaningful learning experiences that nurture curiosity, resilience, and a deep sense of belonging.
As a Teacher in Training, you will be supported to grow your skills and confidence while contributing to a collaborative and passionate teaching team committed to high-quality early childhood education.
This is a permanent position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Role Requirements:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners and brings:
- Enrolment in a Level 7 ECE Bachelor
- Understanding of child-led curriculum and extending children's learning
- Knowledge of ECE Regulations and Te Whāriki, with a strong focus on compliance
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice
- Passion, enthusiasm, and dedication to quality teaching and learning
