About the Role

The ideal candidate will align with RIE principles, practice primary caregiving, and foster a respectful, child-led approach to learning. Strong communication, leadership, and knowledge of ECE regulations, planning, and assessment are essential.

As Head Teacher, you will mentor your team, ensure compliance, and create a warm, nurturing environment focused on relationships and belonging. Full Teacher Certification is required.

Our philosophy is influenced by RIE and loose parts theory. We are also strong on upskilling and growing our team through a distributed leadership model. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, strong team culture, good understanding of Te Whariki and Compliance who can lead a team in this area.

This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday) with flexibility for 4x10-hour days or 5x8-hour days.

What We're Looking For

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and Full Teacher Certification
  • Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki, ECE regulations, and compliance
  • Experience in programme planning, pedagogy, and curriculum development
  • Passion for mentoring, teamwork, and delivering high-quality learning experiences
