Are you a passionate and nurturing early childhood leader ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our youngest tamariki? BestStart Glen Eden is seeking an inspiring Head Teacher for our Babies Room to lead with heart, purpose, and excellence.
The Babies Room Head Teacher plays a vital leadership role within our centre, ensuring the highest quality education and care for infants aged 0–2 years. This position requires a warm, respectful, and detail-oriented kaiako who upholds exceptional teaching standards, fosters strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues, and provides thoughtful leadership within the baby room environment.
You will create a nurturing, culturally inclusive, and responsive learning environment guided by Te Whāriki and our local curriculum, while mentoring and supporting your team to deliver outstanding practice. We are looking for a natural leader who shares our values and vision and has a strong understanding of programme planning, assessment, and curriculum. You will bring drive, initiative, and a genuine passion for growth and continuous improvement.
This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
You will have:
- BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) qualification
- Current NZ Teacher Registration/Practising Certificate
- Strong knowledge of programme planning, pedagogy, and curriculum
- Sound understanding of current ECE Regulations and Te Whāriki, with a strong focus on compliance
- A commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning
- Leadership capability and the ability to build strong, respectful relationships
