Description

At Busy Bees The Lakes, we believe the greatest adventures begin from a place of quiet security. We are looking for an Unregistered Teacher who understands that when a child feels truly safe and anchored by a primary caregiver, they find the courage to explore, imagine, and grow. If you are ready to be that steady presence in a purpose-built environment designed to spark wonder, your journey starts here.

About us:

Our centre is a light-filled space where the principles of Te Whāriki meet the respectful philosophies of Reggio Emilia, Dr. Emmi Pikler, and Magda Gerber. We are passionate advocates for Free Movement, creating an environment where tamariki are trusted to reach their physical milestones in their own time and at their own pace. Life at The Lakes is holistic and connected; we involve our preschool tamariki in the joy of preparing healthy, on-site meals to foster independence, and we use Storypark to ensure our whānau are part of every milestone and discovery. You will be joining a team that values communication and builds deep, reciprocal relationships that wrap around every child.

About you:

You are someone who brings a calm, steady energy and a genuine heart for the early years, whether you are currently studying or bringing a wealth of life experience to our classrooms. We are looking for a kaiako who acts with integrity, possesses a proactive "can-do" spirit, and isn't afraid to get down on the floor to follow a child’s lead. You communicate with warmth and clarity, value the power of Whanaungatanga, and take pride in maintaining a safe, hygienic, and beautiful environment where learning can unfold naturally.

Why you’ll love it here:

Teacher in Training Support - We provide a generous programme for those currently on their journey toward an ECE qualification.

Discounted childcare

Monthly wellbeing support and access to EAP

A Vibrant Culture - Work alongside a highly skilled, supportive team in a fun and exciting workplace.

If you are ready to help our tamariki reach their goals in an environment built on respect and connection, we would love to hear from you.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid work visa.
