BestStart Beckenham is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher in Training to join our energetic and supportive team. We are committed to providing high‑quality education and care for the children in our community, and we are looking for someone who shares this purpose.
This role is primarily based in our Nursery room, with occasional opportunities to support the Preschool room. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about working with children under two, confident in a team environment, able to think on their feet, and committed to placing children's wellbeing at the centre of their practice.
About Our Centre
Our centre is conveniently located close to the central city and operates across two well‑resourced rooms. We have strong community connections, regularly take part in excursions, and are supported by a team of experienced Kaiako who are committed to guiding you through your studies and professional growth.
About the Role
If you are currently enrolled in a Level 7 ECE Bachelor programme and have a genuine passion for early learning, we would love to hear from you. This is a permanent position, working 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

What We're Looking For
We are seeking someone who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners. You will bring:
- Enrolment in a Level 7 ECE Bachelor programme
- Understanding of child‑led curriculum, planning, and extending children's learning
- Knowledge of ECE Regulations and Te Whāriki
- A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in your teaching practice
- Passion, curiosity, and a drive to deliver high‑quality learning experiences
