BestStart West Village is excited to welcome a passionate Caregiver to our energetic, supportive, and tight‑knit team. Our brand‑new centre in Rolleston is dedicated to providing exceptional education and care for tamariki aged 3 months to 5 years.

This role supports our Over 3s area, including break and lunch cover.

About the Role

As a Caregiver at BestStart, you'll play a meaningful role in shaping the daily experiences of our tamariki. You'll help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children feel supported to explore, learn, and grow.

You'll be part of a close‑knit team of passionate educators and will receive ongoing support and professional development to help you thrive.

Reporting to the Centre Manager, you'll work collaboratively with Teachers who are dedicated to providing high‑quality care and education.

What You'll Do Each Day

  • Provide warm, responsive care and education to our tamariki
  • Champion teamwork and contribute to a positive, inclusive centre culture
  • Participate fully in centre activities across all rooms
  • Support staff by covering breaks and assisting with daily operations
  • Help ensure smooth, high‑quality centre functioning at all levels

This is a permanent position, working 32.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday.

What We're Looking For

You're someone who genuinely loves working with young children and wants to make a real difference in their early years. While an ECE qualification isn't required, you'll bring:

  • A natural affinity for children, especially infants and toddlers
  • Experience working with children under five
  • Strong initiative and the ability to follow direction
  • A commitment to supporting a high‑quality learning environment
