OSCAR Onsite Manager
The OSCAR (Out of School Care and Recreation) Onsite Manager is the heart of our daily operations. You aren’t just "watching" kids; you are the architect of their afternoon fun and the primary point of contact for our community.
This role requires a unique blend of high-energy leadership, meticulous organization, and a genuine passion for youth development. You’ll manage everything from the safety of the van ride to the creativity of the craft table.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Operations & Leadership
Program Oversight: Lead the day-to-day delivery of both After School and Holiday Programmes, ensuring they meet MSD and OSCAR standards. Team Coordination: Guide and support staff/volunteers on-site to ensure high engagement and safety. Compliance: Maintain daily logs, attendance records, and health and safety documentation. 2. Relationship Management
Parent Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for current parents regarding their child’s well-being and daily updates. New Family Onboarding: Welcome new families, conduct tours of the facility, and explain program policies and enrolment processes. School Relations: Maintain positive professional relationships with school staff during pickups and site visits. 3. Activity Design & Execution
Creative Planning: Develop a diverse calendar of activities including sports, arts and crafts, STEM projects, and quiet-time options. Resource Management: Audit, purchase, and organize equipment and supplies while staying within the allocated budget. Active Participation: Don’t just supervise—jump in! Lead the games and activities to set the tone for engagement. 4. Transport & Logistics
Safe Transit: Safely operate a mini-van to collect children from various local schools and transport them to the program site. Fleet Care: Conduct basic daily safety checks on the vehicle (fuel, tires, cleanliness) and report any maintenance needs. Requirements & Qualifications
Licensing: Full, clean Driver’s License and comfort driving a 12-seater mini-van. Experience: Minimum 2+ years working with primary-aged children in a leadership or OSCAR setting. MSD standards require Managers are a mini 20 years old. Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to switch from "fun leader" for kids to "professional manager" for parents. Safety: Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one immediately). Vetting: Must pass a clean Police Vetting/Vulnerable Children’s Act check. Ideal Candidate Attributes
