Job DescriptionAs a Casual Programme Assistant, you’ll be the friendly face that makes the mornings and/or afternoons unforgettable for children! You’ll be working mainly in the afternoons.
- Afternoon/ After School shifts runs between 2.30pm–6.00pm. Availability from 2.30pm is essential, though finish times may vary.
- Potential school holiday programmes hours available (between 7am - 6pm).
This is a reliever role, so you’ll be rostered on an “as required” basis – perfect if you’re after flexibility while still making a big impact.
Here’s what you’ll be up to
- Supervising and supporting Tamariki in a range of fun, safe activities
- Keeping our spaces tidy, clean, and welcoming for children
- Helping your Programme Manager run smooth, energetic sessions that keep kids buzzing
- Spotting any hiccups (behaviour, wellbeing, safety) and sharing with your manager so everyone stays supported

Qualifications We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Have the right to work in New Zealand (valid visa or citizenship)
- Can get to sKids Whenuapai site with reliable transportation and/or a vehicle
- Are enthusiastic about working with kids – from babysitting to coaching to volunteering, any experience counts!
- Are reliable, energetic, and keen to make every session special

sKids was founded in 1996 when two parents created a structured out of school care service for primary aged children. Now we’re New Zealand’s favourite kid’s hangout, welcoming over 3800 tamariki each day at over 170 school sites.
All sites offer ‘Rise then Shine’ and/or ‘Stay and Play’ and/or holiday programmes.
