Description

Are you passionate about working with children and creating fun, safe, and engaging experiences? We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable OSCAR Leaders and/or Supervisors to join our team.

Position Details

  • Monday to Friday during school terms
  • 2:30pm – 6:00pm
  • Additional hours available during school holidays

About the Role

As an OSCAR Leader/Supervisor, you will help create a positive and supportive environment where children can learn, play, and thrive. You'll be responsible for supervising children, facilitating activities, maintaining a safe environment, and supporting our commitment to child wellbeing and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage with children aged 5–14 years
  • Assist with the delivery of fun, inclusive, and stimulating activities
  • Ensure children's safety and wellbeing at all times
  • Support school pick-ups and transportation requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming programme environment
  • Build positive relationships with children, whānau, and colleagues
  • Follow all programme policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine passion for working with children
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and responsible
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Commitment to child protection and safeguarding practices
  • Ability to maintain a clean and tidy environment
  • Full New Zealand driver's licence and confidence driving children
  • Availability to work the stated hours during school terms

Successful Applicants Must

  • Be able to pass a Children's Act safety check
  • Successfully complete a New Zealand Police Vet
  • Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to child safety and wellbeing

Desirable

  • Experience working with children in OSCAR, education, recreation, sport, or childcare settings
  • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
