Are you passionate about working with children and creating fun, safe, and engaging experiences? We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable OSCAR Leaders and/or Supervisors to join our team.
Position Details
- Monday to Friday during school terms
- 2:30pm – 6:00pm
- Additional hours available during school holidays
About the Role
As an OSCAR Leader/Supervisor, you will help create a positive and supportive environment where children can learn, play, and thrive. You'll be responsible for supervising children, facilitating activities, maintaining a safe environment, and supporting our commitment to child wellbeing and safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children aged 5–14 years
- Assist with the delivery of fun, inclusive, and stimulating activities
- Ensure children's safety and wellbeing at all times
- Support school pick-ups and transportation requirements
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming programme environment
- Build positive relationships with children, whānau, and colleagues
- Follow all programme policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements
What We're Looking For
- A genuine passion for working with children
- Reliable, trustworthy, and responsible
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Commitment to child protection and safeguarding practices
- Ability to maintain a clean and tidy environment
- Full New Zealand driver's licence and confidence driving children
- Availability to work the stated hours during school terms
Successful Applicants Must
- Be able to pass a Children's Act safety check
- Successfully complete a New Zealand Police Vet
- Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to child safety and wellbeing
Desirable
- Experience working with children in OSCAR, education, recreation, sport, or childcare settings
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
