Description

We are a long established before and after school care programme organisation in Lower Hutt. We believe that great staff are essential to run a great programme and we have a fabulous, dedicated team. Our staff are fun to be with, provide a warm caring environment and genuinely want to be with our children/tamariki.

*We need an experienced, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable child care Supervisor, in charge of other staff, for our established Korokoro programme for School Years 0 - 8 tamariki.

*Experience working with groups of tamariki or working in the childcare/ education sector is required, and managing other staff would be a bonus. This is not a school leavers position and, given the time to travel vs part time hours, better suits someone who lives close/in the Lower Hutt area.

*We are looking for someone with an enjoyment of life who has empathy and rapport with this age group.

*Good communication skills, time management, written and organisational skills and a good dosing of common sense is required.

*Afternoons: 2:00/2:30pm start and 6pm finish Monday to Friday during school term time. *Care of tamariki is paramount. Afternoon tea, mat time, group games, indoor and outdoor activities and art and crafts are lead by the Supervisor and assistants. H&S checks, audits, maintenance checks etc completed every day.

*Attendance at Supervisor Management Meetings, Team Meetings and training sessions is required. *Short morning shift may be available at another site. *Holiday work may be available.

  • Hourly wage dependent on experience, skills and qualifications.
  • First Aid Certificate an advantage but not essential.
  • NZ driving license/own transport preferred.
  • NZ residency or valid NZ work permit.
  • OSCAR House is committed to the care and safety of tamariki in our care. We expect our staff to uphold this safeguarding at all times. A Police Vet Check is required of all successful applicants.

Please email CV and Cover Letter asap.
