School Cleaner

Position Purpose We are seeking a reliable, trustworthy, and proactive School Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students and staff. Because a portion of your shift will be worked independently after school hours, you will need to be a self-starter who takes pride in your work and can manage your time effectively. A good sense of humour and a positive attitude toward working in a vibrant school environment are essential!

Key Responsibilities Daily Cleaning Duties

• Floors: Vacuum all carpeted areas (classrooms, hall and staff areas) and mop/wash hard floor surfaces.
• Sanitation: Thoroughly clean and disinfect student toilet blocks and staff toilets, ensuring high standards of hygiene.
• General Tidying: Wipe down high-touch surfaces and ensure spaces are presentable for the next day.

Security & Stock Management

• Lock-up: Take full responsibility for securing the school buildings, checking windows, and locking all doors upon exiting at the end of your shift.
• Inventory: Monitor cleaning supply levels and proactively notify management when restocking is required. School Holiday Periods
• Deep Cleaning: Carry out more detailed, deep-cleaning projects during school term breaks (e.g., window washing, carpet shampooing, detailed dusting, and floor polishing).

• Child-Friendly Attitude: Must like children and be comfortable working in an environment centered around young people.
• Sense of Humour: A cheerful, resilient approach to the unique daily surprises of a school environment.
• Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and possesses a strong eye for detail.
• Physical Fitness: Capability to handle the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, and being on your feet for extended periods.

Key Requirements *Two referees will be needed to support the application. *Must be available to work in school holidays as this is a 52 week position.

• Police Vetting: Employment is conditional upon agreeing to and successfully passing a clean police vetting check.
• Solitary Work: Comfortable with being on-site alone for part of the day as staff head home.
