About ConInnova
ConInnova is a growing construction consultancy and technology company delivering Quantity Surveying, Project Management, and innovative SaaS solutions (CivCost) across New Zealand, Australia, and the Middle East. We are currently expanding our technical delivery team and are seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to support project delivery, site operations, and technical coordination across a range of civil and structural projects.
About the Role
This role will support project engineers and managers in delivering civil and structural works, including reinforced concrete, steel structures, infrastructure maintenance, and specialist repair projects. You will be involved in both site-based and office-based engineering activities, including inspections, reporting, coordination, and technical support.
Key Responsibilities *Assist in the planning and coordination of civil engineering projects *Carry out site inspections, quality checks, and compliance monitoring *Support reinforced concrete and structural works, including repair and strengthening *Prepare technical reports, documentation, and inspection records *Assist in cost tracking, progress monitoring, and programme updates *Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders *Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and project specifications *Support procurement and material coordination *Assist in managing works under standard forms of contract (e.g., NZS3910, FIDIC) *Required Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
*A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering *Minimum 3+ years of relevant industry experience *Experience in reinforced concrete, steel structures, or infrastructure projects *Strong understanding of: Site inspections and quality assurance Health & Safety compliance Construction methodologies
Exposure to project coordination or project engineering roles Experience with: *AutoCAD / BIM / Revit (preferred) *MS Project or similar planning tools *Ability to prepare technical reports and documentation *Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills *Ability to work both on-site and in-office environments
Highly Preferred
*Experience working on infrastructure or asset maintenance projects *Exposure to inspection, testing, or structural repair works *Familiarity with NEC or FIDIC contracts *Experience in project reporting, risk identification, and mitigation *Background in international project environments (UK, Middle East, or similar)
