Intermediate Structural Engineer

The role

BG&E is looking to hire an Experienced Intermediate Structural Engineer with 3 to 5 years of consultant / construction experience (minimum 2 years of New Zealand Specific Experience) to join our growing team. This role will see you delivering on a variety of projects. If you are an enthusiastic and driven individual who is wanting to be part of a supportive team, then this is the role for you.

This position will be Christchurch based.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Delivery of structural design packages, including calculations specifications, drawings and the like for a wide variety of structural systems.
• Coordination and collaboration with other team members at BG&E and externally with Architects, Contractors, Other Disciplines etc.
• Being responsible for managing and delivering projects on time, budget and to a high standard, with support from our team.
• Providing innovative yet practical technical solutions for our clients.

About you

• Passionate about Structural Engineering with a commitment to personal development.
• 4 Year bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Washington Accord Equivalent) .
• Strong understanding of NZ Standards and Codes. Sound understanding of engineering principles.
• Attention to detail, ability to focus on critical elements, and, at the same time, remain mindful of the big picture
• Ability to establish a trusted relationship internally and externally.
• Motivated and autonomous individual who values being part of a talented team with diverse skills and experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to express complex ideas in a simply understood manner and focus on customer service.
