Structural Steel Fabricator – Site & Workshop
Location: Hamilton Work Type: Full Time, Permanent Pay: $33 – $40 per hour (Experience dependent)
The Opportunity We are looking for a capable, hands-on professional who takes genuine pride in structural fabrication. This is a role for a fabricator who is equally at home in a high-output workshop as they are confidently stepping into demanding, fast-paced site environments. What You’ll Be Doing
- Full-Cycle Fabrication: Executing heavy structural steel projects from blueprint interpretation to final assembly.
- Precision Welding: High-quality GMAW (MIG), FCAW (Flux-core), and MMAW (Stick) welding to industry standards.
- Site Installation: Confidently handling on-site assembly, ensuring structural integrity and safety in varying conditions.
- Heavy Machinery: Operating gantry cranes, press brakes, and cutting equipment with total competence.
What You Bring:
- Qualified Pro: Ideally, an NZ Level 4 Trade Certificate in Fabrication or 5+ years of solid industry experience.
- Safety First: A current Site Safe Passport (or the ability to get one) and a commitment to safe site practices.
- Blueprint Savvy: Proven ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Reliability: A full driver’s licence and the physical fitness to handle the demands of a structural site.
