Senior Engineer

We are currently looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join a well-established team in Hamilton, contributing to the delivery of major infrastructure and civil construction projects throughout New Zealand. This position offers the opportunity to take a leading technical role, supporting project teams from tender stage through to construction delivery.

Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will provide engineering expertise, assist with project planning and methodologies, and help drive successful outcomes across a range of civil works projects.

Key Duties:

• Deliver technical guidance and engineering support to project and site teams across active civil construction projects.
• Prepare and review engineering designs, calculations, and technical documentation, while resolving design and construction challenges.
• Collaborate with estimating, procurement, and delivery teams to develop construction methodologies and support tender submissions.
• Carry out site inspections and provide advice relating to quality, compliance, and engineering best practice.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders while mentoring junior engineering staff and site personnel.

About You: Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, you will be a motivated and practical engineer with the ability to contribute immediately within a fast-paced project environment. You will ideally possess:

• A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
• CPEng accreditation, or progress towards chartership.
• Approximately 5+ years’ experience delivering civil infrastructure or construction projects.
• Strong background in technical design, engineering analysis, and problem solving.
• Experience supporting or leading project delivery within the civil sector.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients and project teams.
