About the Role:Northpower is seeking an experienced Team Leader – Overhead Crew to lead the safe and efficient delivery of overhead line work within the contracting side of our business. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be actively involved on site, guiding crews and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

You'll work closely with supervisors and management to plan work, scope jobs accurately, and coordinate people, plant, equipment, and subcontractors. This role may also require participation in standby and after-hours work to support operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete WTC competency assessments, audits, quality checks, and toolbox inspections
  • Ensure plant and equipment is compliant, tested, fit for purpose, and well maintained
  • Scope and plan jobs accurately, considering environmental and operational factors
  • Lead and coordinate crews, plant, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to deliver work efficiently and safely
  • Ensure jobs are priced, coded, and resourced correctly, including labour and plant hours
  • Complete required reporting and documentation on time
  • Support the team with interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and continuous improvement
  • Communicate job financials clearly to the team
  • Use strong problem-solving skills to resolve issues quickly

About You:

You're an experienced overhead professional who leads by example and takes pride in doing the job right. You're confident managing people, calm under pressure, and committed to maintaining a strong safety culture.

You'll bring:

  • Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience
  • Proven team leadership experience in an overhead or contracting environment
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • A proactive, practical approach to health and safety
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to think critically, solve problems, and make sound decisions
  • Integrity, consistency, and professionalism
