Apprentice - Hydraulic Maintenance & Repairs

South Pacific Hydraulics Ltd has a position available for an apprentice Hydraulic Service Technician in our busy Hornby, Christchurch workshop. We offer the opportunity of full ‘hands on’ training, while earning and learning within our team environment. Once you have completed your apprenticeship, you will be fully qualified and have achieved a Trade qualification! To be considered, you must be able to demonstrate you have the following essential skills and attributes: *Committed to 2-4 years study, some of which will be in your own time *Mechanically minded, and interested in a career in this industry *Be self-motivated, eager to learn and develop, assist, and not afraid to ask questions *Able to follow instructions, have good attention to detail, with good problem solving skills *Excellent customer service and good communication skills *Be a reliable member of our busy team *Current, clean Drivers Licence

We will consider school leavers, or mature persons with some engineering or mechanical experience in a similar field, wanting to further their training and career – the key will be your attitude towards achieving your best in this role. Ideally, it would be great if you have already completed a pre-trade qualification and worked with tools already. We are also keen consider industry related apprentices who are part way through their course, wanting to gain and develop a variety of skills in a busy hydraulic service workshop, where no 2 days are the same! The role is Monday to Friday, and as our technicians work both in the workshop and out in the field, you may be required to occasionally work additional time outside of normal hours, and weekends. You may also need to travel out of town to complete jobs as required from time to time. Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid work visa.
